Critical Design Tigershark

I saw Pacific Rim...and then kind of went...eh????
Pointless Story, Pointless Execution, Lots of Good Graphics...but just pointless...confusing, horrible editing.
Its a high expense B-Rated movie...and some the actors I know from ScyFy Channel's Godzilla movie...and that was B-rated...even some of the lines are cut and pasted from that movie!!!

Now what even shows even more so...is the fact that the writers are completely ignorant of naval warfare...completely...even of nuclear warfare.
Nuclear Torpedoes, Nuclear Mines, Nuclear Depth Charges....all naval developements since the dawn of the Atomic Age.
Then the standard weaponry of the world.
Supercavitating Torpedoes-supersonic under water.
Plasma weaponry of varying types
Coil-guns...totally different from railguns
Infrasonic weapons...weaponry that kills by transferrence of force through sound waves.
Electromagnetic/Electrostatic weapons
Thermobaric weaponry...fuel-air weapons
Linear Cannons...using pressure variations and ignitable gases...to propel projectiles to rail gun speeds.
Etc Etc
The list is massive...

Don't get me on Physics...
The creatures [Kaiju] look like rehashes of James Cameron's Avatar creatures on Pandora. Some of them are complete clones of those creatures. Not really creative.

Names of the mechs...
Jaeger? that means Hunter? And they don't hunt...they defend.
Verteidiger [Defender is more apt]
Schulzblech [Shield]
Festung [Fortress]
Schwert [Sword]
Hecht [Pike]
Better names are available...and it should be such that each nation that builds the mech should have a different name for it for the class of mech, before attaching the personal name of the mech.

Horrific lines....like retrieve the three Jagers? Okay...so they count Striker Eureka, Gypsy Danger [which is not a nice turn of phrase particularly when real life Gypsy people suffer from such stigma, labeled as such.], the Red Typhoon [chinese mech. which had its head ripped off.]

Why make a whole deal and drop the fact that a mech can be piloted by one pilot? And then proceed to later rehash that all mechs must have two pilots. Could have been interesting to have a rebuilt mech used by a single pilot to either defend or carry the bomb.

Why have the Aussie copilot tell the commander, you have my boy and take care of him...and subsequently have the said son...get killed in the bomb blast. Not much taking care of him.

Oh yeah and the hollywood/scifi habit of always getting the black guy killed...its getting really really old now. [Back in the day that was called being racially insensitive.]

Oh and yes the aliens didn't attack earth because the dinosaurs....pfffft?

And Geography...okay Chernobyl...I mean Cherno Alpha...is based in Vladivostok...that is behind Japan. Japan gets the brunt of the Kaiju attacks. So the Russians don't really have to worry. The reveal of the Gypsy Danger in fighting the Kaiju in the Bering Sea...is what?????? I thought the Kaiju were coming from the Pacific Ocean...somewhere near the Philippines near the Marinanas trench...Challenger Deep? Bering Sea is actually outside the Pacific Rim because the Aleutian Islands on its Southern edge are the Pacific Rim. And the Kaiju is going towards Anchorage Alaska. [See the picture here...the writer failed Geography class it appears. ] You would have been probably better served to have the American mech based on either Hawaii, American Samoa, Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Marshall Islands, Guadacanal, Wake Island. The Russians would be based off the Kurile Islands and Kamchatka Penisula. Australia is being layers and layers of island chains and nations. The Chinese and Taiwanese would be hard pressed. Its like a horrible idea all around.

So the idea with this design...Albtraum Jaeger [Nightmare Hunter] called Tigershark...and is piloted by a Captain of the U.S. Navy. is a critical design in response to Pacific Rim.

I just hope they never make this into a Trilogy...its a dead on arrival concept...why make it into a trilogy when everything is completely done.
